Hello! I've missed doing this, but my mind's been working since my short break began.

Oh, classes started and I'm taking French again. I was very busy preparing and then getting into the swing of things. Since I'm officially 'swung' I can post again! I have tons of post ideas in my head, so this week will probably be a super fruitful week for this blog.

Today, I finished a book, Mrs. Dalloway by Virigina Woolf. It was pretty fabulous. Now, I'm workong on Girl, Interrupted. I won't bore you with my school stuff (in this post) but just know this, there is plenty of reading going on and I've been introduced to some very cool concepts I'll get into once I've decided how I feel about them.

To write a bit about Mrs. Dalloway, it made me very sad. I have some quotes I plan on sharing on my Tumblr (how digital I am), but I will share one that really resonated with me. It's morbid on the surface, but I find it beautiful besides that.

"Death was defiance. Death was an attempt to communicate; people feeling the impossibility of reaching the centre which, mystically, evaded them; closeness drew apart; rapture faded, one was alone. There was an embrace in death."

Perfect, right? I tend to really like revelations about death. Probably because I won't get to experience my own and am always searching out a semblance of those feelings, or that lack of feeling. Also has something to do with not having my Dad and trying to connect with him that way. Like I said, a bit morbid but still beautiful.

I'm sure you're wondering, "How will she follow that with trinkets?!" Never fear, darlings! I can follow anything with trinkets. Especially sadness! :)

Right now, I'm loving art of all kinds. Prints, orginals, aceos, everything! I've been doing some creating of my own (more on that another time), but it's made me appreciate the creations of others. I'm absorbing tons of poetry, paintings, and tribal art lately.

Etsy is filled with sweet, dark, interesting, and all around lovely things. Here are a three I like...

While a little melancholy, this drawing is quite cute in it's own right.

I find myself totally loving this print for many reasons. I love Bison and it reminds me of that old book about colors (do you remember the title?). There is something playful in it, but it wouldn't look bad in an office and at-home library. I like its versatility.

This last one is so very, very awesome. It reminds me of the old Winnie the Pooh! Check it out here, the complete print is larger. I love that little bee as well. I've been thinking about getting a small bee tattooed on my body. Maybe a bee like this one!

Onto the accessories! :D

I have fallen absolutely in love with this fleur-de-lis necklace because of the size! It's massive and I want it. Imagine it against a simple, loose, white t-shirt and skinny jeans. Or against a little black dress for a night out. I have so many ideas!

I totally dig this bag. It reminds me of a Coach bag I saw in Teen Vogue over the summer. The instant I saw it, it spoke to me! It can be worn with just about anything. It has some pretty details that can spice up a simple get-up and pair well with your fancier gear. The strap is long enough to wear it cross body, so it's effortless!

Finally, I offer you this very cool door pillow. I imagine it seated nicely on my little stool against the wall. It's extremely clever!

I've been drinking more lately, not to be drunk, but just to go with a meal or along with a good book. My favorites tend to be amaretto and milk, and wine spritzers. Usually red wine, but I'd like to try white more often. That said, I found a sweet recipe for wine coolers on TasteSpotting! :D

An Extended Weekend Getaway!

I have been away for a few days visiting family in Maryland. My aunt is prego and I went away for her Baby Shower and just to spend time. As an extra special treat, I was able to visit Washington D.C. before meeting up with her.

Since I am going to be heading back to Albany in the morning and have to pack up myself, my stuff, my cats, and the plants my grandma is giving me, I will be doing a quick travelogue post until I get settled for school.

Last week, I went with my family to a place called Old Westbury Gardens. It's so beautiful there!

On Thursday, I went to D.C. and took some great pictures. I saw so many beautiful exteriors, I can't even begin to describe them! Here is just a small sampling!

All in all, it was a lovely and eventful week since I last posted! School will be starting next Monday (ugh.) and I have to prepare my apartment for a new school year by making everything pretty and perfect for the new year. I have so many flowers and plants coming back with me it's gonna be like a green paradise! The oxygen will be flowing freely! ;) Once I'm done setting up there will be pictures!

Amalgamation of Great Things!

Today is a good day! I woke up at a decent hour (10:30AM, WHOA!) and I am going to see Eat, Pray, Love in a couple of hours. :D All those things are made even better by the fact that I discovered a fun, new-to-me blog today: Jade"Purple"Brown.

After checking out some of her posts, I've discovered a new love: Osborn/Shoes! They have quite a few really great shoes and they carry 9 1/2!! :D It's always nice to find that. While they are pretty pricey, I can see myself setting aside $10-$20/wk for a snazzy pair. Three pairs really stood out to me and here they are!

I love the shape of these and shoes with laces is a nice departure for me! (I'm a flats/wedges/sandals girl) These would look great with skinnies, a skirt, whatever you put on!

Sometimes you want a fun, radiant shoe to go with a simple outfit for school/work/play, and these booties are great for that! So colorful!

I'm always looking for another everyday shoe, and these flats would look great on our feet any day, right?

Hi,

Things are gonna be a bit different with this post. I want to make it more "true to life" or something. I'd like to include more tidbits about what I'm actually wearing/doing/buying. My cell camera is decommissioned at the moment, but there will be stand-ins when needed.

I've resumed some old habits when it comes to jewelry this past week and started going for nostalgia. I'm perpetually nostalgic. In fact, I heard the perfect quote today in a movie called 'Kicking and Screaming' (by Noah Baumbach, a fave of mine) to perfectly describe how I feel about anything in the past. "I'm nostalgic for conversations I had yesterday. I've begun reminiscing events before they even occur." It's completely true for me. I love memories and old things and the past in general. Well, the good parts of the past. The bad parts I try to put into a tiny mind compartment and forget.

I've been wearing mementos on my neck, a little rock my friend gave me, a locket I bought myself to put pics of my little siblings in, all at once created a consortium of different, but not opposite, emotions in me. I love memories. On that note, I want to share some excerpts from some great Oscar Wilde poems. Hopefully they connect to you as they did me. I find them melancholy and very true to actual feelings rather than any physical reality.

If it seems an odd jump to you from poesy to fashion, we're clearly different folk! We're all made up of many parts and each one should get it's fair shake, yes?
As you can maybe imagine, when I'm feeling nostalgic and poetic my thoughts go to nature. I found a few GREAT animal items that would swing quite nicely with my current necklace! I wish I had more free cash or I'd snag a ton of this stuff!

Whale watching is something I've always wanted to do. Whenever I move to LA, I'll spend my weekends reading on the sand and watching for whales on the rocky piers! This necklace is a very classy rendition of those giant mammals that fascinate we tiny folk!

Since we've already established I l-o-v-e owls, this necklace is perfect. Did I mention the owl is my spirit animal? Plus, I'm a big fan of shiny things. ;)

Of course, I'm super into old school anything and Wilde makes me wax poetic and nostalgic for him time. Not the whole persecution and stupidity part, but the style and perfection of dandyism. This sweet pocket watch is absolutely unmatched. It's a bit pricey, but for such a beautiful piece. It doesn't tell time anymore, but it transports you back in time!

There's something sort of beautiful in this dilapidated tree print that I can't help but love. It's simple and sweet. It's meant to please aesthetically which makes it open to your own symbolic interpretation, which I love.

To makes things a bit more personal, I want to share my latest super cheap shoe find. :) I bought a snazzy pair of Sperry's for $15 at Burlington Coat Factory! They have them of sale here for ~$90 (you might have better luck on eBay or some other option). The shoes look great and will transition awesomely into fall and possibly winter (with the right treads added). It's a simple, but very classy shoe that can transition from school/work to play with ease. You choose how to dress them up, or if you even want to! I have only worn them totally casual so far and love the results. I have them in brown but there are many colors options available!

Whoa! I just hit a plateau of energy! I'm going to watch an episode of Bones, eat some banana smoothie (that I froze and am eating like sherbet!), and go to sleep.
I hope you enjoyed me new style and sorry it ends so abruptly, but the wave of tired just smacked me in the head!

I mentioned before that I've got a new job...since I think I shouldn't give away the particulars, I'll stick to the genre. It's in furniture! With lovely chairs, tables, and finery in mind--today's post!

I am the Queen of Procrastinators! I've had the items for this post for days, but I've been distracted and all that jazz from the blog. A couple of entries from now I am going to start branching out. I'm preparing them all right now, so I can just press 'Publish' each morning (or afternoon, or evening)! ;D

I've been avoiding the blog because my head is in such a creative space, I don't wanna use it all up on here! My project for the day will be to compile my latest inspirations into an What Inspires Now book. It's a concept I've been using for years. At the moment, my headboard is covered in inspiring things...some of them are quite strange! I wish I had a picture of it to share.

Onward, to furnishings!

Dressers come in a variety of sizes, but the shapes generally remain the same. You have to add color, texture, or a little something special to make them truly yours. This turquoise piece looks great, and the mirror is just an added bonus. You can probably find a similar piece in your area to DIY! From tampastreetmarket.

When you're attempting your dresser DIY, or if you just pick up a plain one that needs some spice, drawer pulls are a necessity! This one is so interesting! And this one is absolutely sweet! Both are from kmadson

Of course, I know my readership is quite hip (I rhymed there! ;D), so you guys must be into reclaimed, distressed looking furniture. These next pieces fit that bill perfectly, each in their own funky, interesting ways.

The Big Fat Summer Challenge!

I'm definitely late with this posting, mostly because I just got in from a very nice wedding and couldn't post earlier! I didn't quite complete every bit of the challenge, but I had fun doing what I could. Like I said a few days ago, I found out about it so late, I didn't think I'd complete it! I did my best and I hope you enjoy!

Here are the results from my whirlwind attempt at wearing everything for the Big Fat Summer Challenge. I don't usually step outside of my comfort zone when it comes to clothing, though that zone is gradually expanding. There were some things I was very reluctant about because, let's face it, my arms are obviously big. They're impossible to hide, it's as if they can think for themselves! Anyways. I found some, what I think, were very clever ways of putting together those options (since I don't own all the different types, I faked it and loved the results!).

I love body hugging stuff, ironically, since I don't like my body all that much. I went for the clubgirl look...since I have tight dresses for the purpose of dancing all night long!

My sister is always telling me I need to stop with the Meg Ryan look. Admittedly, Meg is one of my fashion icons. I love how she brings her beauty to the forefront with baggier attire. Or that's how I look at it. There's something sort of Japanese about it as well. I own quite a few flowy, loose, baggy things so it wasn't hard to put this one together. I'm in love with that jacket...I'd wear it everyday if I could!

To go sleeveless takes quite a bit of moxy for me. I hate my arms, but, for you out in fatshion world, I'll go for it! Plus, I'm in love with me in this outfit.

Short dresses have been my Summer staple, to darken my legs before they go into hiding for Winter and because I'm in love with them. The shorter the hem, the better this Summer! I like the bubble cut, even though it enlarges me a bit. I dig it. I thought the shoes would really emphasize the length of the skirt.

Bathing suits...EEK! I wish I'd taken a picture when I was in California in the beginning of the month. I took this one in the front corridor. I love this suit, so my insecurities were quelled by my love for the suit. I'm glad I did it. :)

Shorts. Well. I hate shorts. That's just fact! Plain, simple, fact. However, I forced myself to be up for the challenge. I picked these up from the Salvation Army, since I didn't own them before. (As noted in a previous post) I just want nothing to do with them, though this made me give them a second thought. I like the length and the simplicity.

Me without my shaper. Well. I have been avoiding that girl for quite a while now! Only for this challenge will she be unveiled! ;) I'm not sure if I cheated since this skirt fits so darn well! I try to make sure that my clothes fit me nicely without the shaper, unless it's form fitting. Jean skirts are my new best friend because they are quite forgiving (like their legged counterparts). Just a tip, ladies!

Strapless was also an improvisation. Can you tell? I don't think it's obvious, really. The way this dress flows makes me feel confident about going without and shoulder/arm protection. I feel a bit naked, but I'm trying not to think about it!

The maxi dress never happened, sadly. I didn't own one and never got around to picking one up, but I still wanted to share what I could do!

My personal selection had to be special, it had to highlight my biggest fatshion fears while making me feel beautiful. That's quite a tough one. At first, I wanted to go naked--do some tasteful maneuvering to assure appropriateness. Then my mind jumped from that, to this, a halter top showing off as much arm as possible. I hate it, but anything for a challenge!

Some inspiration is smacking me in the face right now. The song "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones! I'm grooving out big time. I've always been into the 60s-70s vibe: modern cuts and flowy styles look fabulous on most people!

To start, a record from those greats of the 60s and 70s, The Rolling Stones! Mick Jaggers giant lips are inspiration alone! From, aptly named seller, TotallyAwesomeVinyl.

I'm reviving the recipes (at last!). Today, I'm going for a drink and a dessert. The Stones weren't into 3 squares a day, they were into joy and a good time!

The Tequila Sunrise was a favorite of 70s folk. It looks great and tastes even better. There's a link for homemade grenadine on the recipe page. Looks like fun!

Reasons for Living.

Today, I'm in a fabulous mood. Here are the reasons:
1. I'm drinking hot coccoa!
2. My Pandora is on the Heatmiser station right now.
3. I am freshly employed.
4. Life is beautiful.
5. I'm exercising regularly.

In honor of this lovely day, I'm going to do multiple posts. (Since, technically, I owe the blog-o-sphere for my absentee-ism.) And I just want to.

This first entry will be a lot of my favorite things. I usually don't share what I'm loving at the moment, but I feel communal right now. As that demon said in the Bible, "We are Legion." :D

A. Over the past couple of days, I've embraced my body more and more. I just love the things I can do. That said, the hippo and I have formed a true bond. We're round, but strong. That's who I am. I love it. I am actually planning a trip to the zoo to get my own shots of hippos to hang in my apartment. This smug mug is a perfect expression of Hippo and Me. From WheeTreasures.

B. In accordance with embracing myself and simplicity, I'm wearing my hair naturally, as it sits atop my head without any help. That sort of beauty is encompassed in this print from AFroDisiacs.

F. I'm always fascinated by the octopus. Eight legs, super smart, and very ugly. (Or so we'd think!) This cutie is defying the odds by being totally adorable, wearable, and subtle. I love everything. From Alwynstore.

G. I'm into oddities (which I'm sure you can tell), and I love owls (yet another obvious one). So, when those two loves came together with this strange bank, I just had to share! Imagine tossing pennies in there and bringing that bad boy in to the coin star machine! From jayne2333.

H. Small, sweet, muted objects are completely timeless. I'm always searching around for another great find. This petal ring does the job famously. It can be worn with a gown or a t-shirt and jeans. I'm in love with versatility and this piece has it! From littlebugjewelry.

Fatshion! My newest discovery!

For awhile now, I've embraced my "largess," shall we say. I know I'm big and I don't really mind it because I'm healthy and have lost plenty of weight since I first decided to take ownership of my body and my health. That said, I've discovered FATshion, a fun way for chubby girls to share their styles. I'm embarking on my first *blog challenge* adventure!

So, things in my life are going quite well at the moment. My best friend is pregnant, and I am the godmother to growing boy. He's perfect, she's perfect, the works! I've recently developed an outlook about life that is dependent upon beauty, and new life is definitely a beautiful thing.

In honor of that young life, I'm seeking out the best baby- and mommy-related goods I can find on Etsy. I've set aside some great things that I want to get for them, but I'm going to quest for entirely new stuff for you guys! I'm trying to go organic or natural, just to make things that much healthier for the baby in your life!

First off, I'm in love with natural wood teethers, like this one from littlesaplingtoys. I like them because they're simple and practical. They come in so many different sizes, shapes, and styles that it was hard to choose just one! What a great shop!

Babies love to play and learn! These little animals can let your baby do both! You can play along with your baby/toddler and name the animals as you take them on a woodland adventure or just toss them in the air. =P From justhatched.

So, at the moment I feel a strong urge to blog and blog regularly. I'm in a space where I can do anything I choose whenever I choose, and I choose to blog! I'm going to start incorporating myself into the blog, instead of just showing you what great things are out there to buy.

I'm in LOVE with a few things today:

So, I love Star Wars. It is the only saga that I've actually taken an interest in. It's awesome. I loved Hayden Christensen as Annakin as much as I loved Harrison Ford as Han Solo. Both sets of films had so many high points, I won't list them here. LOL. :)

As you can imagine, there are tons of great items on Etsy related to Star Wars and here are just a few! :)

So, tomorrow's a holiday. St. Patrick's Day is a Christian holiday to honor Saint Patrick which became a day of feast (according to the God's of wikipedia). Generally, I spend the day drinking Bailey's and taking care of my usual affairs.

Today, I'm in a buying mood. This mood tends to destroy my bank account, but I don't mind it. All week I've been spending on myself, but today I've decided to get some things for the cats.

Yesterday I was feeling a bit whimsical and bought a bouquet of flowers. I put them in various vases around the apartment and discovered that cats like to bite the leaves of purple chrysanthemums. The "chrys" I got are light purple and have big petals. The apartment smells so nice with flowers everywhere and the bunch was only $7 so I may start buying them weekly. :)

My cats love batting toys around, I bought these last year and Emilia loved them! :) From RedBerryCrochet.

I think that the 50s were a great time in fashion, though not the best time for things like rights and liberties. At least not in the U.S. of A. However, that doesn't make theme parties for that era any less fun!
It would be disingenuous to say that I am 100% in favor of glorification of misogynistic eras or characters, but it is fun if you take it at face value, which most people do. So, to not get too convuluted in social responsibility, let's enjoy some themed items from Etsy, a very socially responsible website. ;)

Every good hostess needs an apron to avoid any potential spills and look cute! Also, aprons are flattering for two reasons: you look like you've actually been up to something to ready for your guests and you don't need to be slim because it cinches at everyone's thinnest part--the waist! I am very much in the mood of wanting to travel this week. I really want to go somewhere and explore. I'm getting a real travel itch with all of this sitting still and focus on school and the like. I need to do something outside of my current spectrum very soon. Perhaps another trip to Toronto will slake my wanderlust. Or maybe Montreal, just to experience something new. Although, I want to re-experience Toronto now that I know my way around and would budget my time a lot better.

I've also been wanting to focus more ardently on my Spanish. I have been neglecting it, aside from listening to tons of Spanish music. I might go for Podcasts in Spanish to force myself to immerse, even if that only leads to understanding it spoken rather than speaking it the absolute best.

To get into today's picks, I was definitely feeling a bit cheeky and desirous of escape. I think those feelings are pretty clearly expressed...enough talk, check 'em out.

I have had a very interesting week. I've been doing some real thinking about the sorts of things I want to do before I become a cog in the machine and have come up with a short list of absolute necessities.

Today, I feel really chill. I woke up a bit later than I planned, but I don't feel any stress about it. I made it to class on time and now I have almost two hours to idle before my next class as of this moment. I've got Julieta Venegas in my headphones and things can only get better! :)

At the moment, I'm shopping phones as I'm considering a switch from my stone age phone to a Blackberry or something like it. My heart is set on the Blackberry Curve. It has a prepaid version now, so I'm pretty much on it. I'm not good on commitments! I'm trying to "step my game up" lately regarding the things I own. Higher quality bags, nicer shoes, a better phone! I'm trying to force myself into adulthood. My wardrobe shall no longer be consistently t-shirts. This has been happening gradually, though. I rarely wear casual outfits anymore (like I am today, hoodie and jeans! In my defense, it's freezing out there!).

I also want to get serious about my Spanish. I don't plan on taking anymore classes, but I want to learn on my own time. Juanes' Una Dia Normal album is certainly not helping to ease my frustration! His voice is so great and I understand *some* of what he's saying, but I want to know it all! Moving on.

Today I have two etsy favorites! One being a lovely leather bag and the other being a cute phone cozy! Check 'em out. :)

I usually try to avoid using a seller that's already in the Etsy Finds e-newletter, but I completely adore this one! Her bags are reasonably priced for being handmade, though they're a bit higher than I'd usually spend. I may buy one of these lovelies soon, as I've been looking to upgrade and am not a huge fan of name brands. This bag from hoakonhelga is beautiful! I can see myself walking around campus or the mall with that bad boy on my shoulder! Look!

This little phone cozy is great! I love the kitschiness of moustaches. They're masculine and yet silly. Love 'em! Not extremely grown-up, but it has clean enough lines that I forgive myself for being so darn childish! From the seller NORMandLOU. :)

I must admit, I had a hard time choosing a phone cozy with the huge number of options Etsy has, but that one and others from that seller are so sweet--they won out!

I am so hungry, but I've vowed to stop eating out so I have to be hungry until after my discussion section ends at 3:40! I plan on devouring some pot roast I made after the roast entry! At the moment, I am doing an excellent job of avoiding the reading assignment for my Public Policy class. I have done my daily Etsy searching, checked out Weardrobe, and read my other dailies. Now, here I am, blogging instead of reading!

Beyond that, I don't have much to say today and I've got a bit of a headache. One thing, I saw the movie 'The Americanization of Emily' today and I definitely recommend it! I'd even buy it, it was so great. It was suggested by my War and Film professor and I must say he was spot on with it. James Garner's sarcastic Lt. Commander Charlie Madison is my new favorite black and white character. Behind Mr. Smith. ;) And who doesn't love Julie Andrews? Come on!

Today, my political theory class focused on Plato's Republic and the concepts of justice articulated within it. We pretty much scratched the surface, but that got me thinking that it would be great to give this entry a justice theme. Oh, I know you're already excited!

First, my etsy find of the day is from the shop of sheids. She looks so stern, firm, and utterly unchanging(though I think there's room for discussion of the absolute-ness of justice, or anything for that matter!).

Wouldn't that look so adorable against a delicate silk blouse? Just sayin!

Now, I think I owe you two recipes today because I didn't quite get around to it yesterday.
I think the most just meat is definitely beef! LOL. It tends to be fall-off-the-bone good when you roast it all day in a crockpot or the oven. Check out this tasty option for your next big dinner!

For yesterday's recipe, I went with a dessert. Something that suited my industrial mood (with that potent sourness), but still comes out SUPER DELICIOUS! Check it!

Learning Pains

School began last Wednesday and instead of digging into my books I've been rearranging my schedule like mad. I've finally achieved a schedule that I can deal with. The classes I'm taking have snazzy names like, "Milton and his Revolutionary World" and "Public Policy: Theory and Practice." It's pretty funny, the melding of my English minor and Political Science major. But hey, that's always been me--a strange medley of ideas. Plato's Republic is required reading for one of my classes. I sense it's going to be pretty epic.

Today, I've been spending my idle time doing what I love (surfing Etsy for the newest, cutest goods!) and here are my picks for today.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about karma and how the universe views our actions. I don't mean to venture into such deep territory on this generally sweet blog, but I've been giving more weight to thoughts. What I mean is, I think that the universe knows our thoughts and that we are all part of a collective. Our spirits are part of it, I mean. I think positive thoughts can benefit you internally. That's sort of obvious, if you feel good and think positive your days will be better than if you dwell on negativity. But I think it's more than that. I think the collective source of all our thoughts and our very beings can be tainted by our negative thoughts and hinder the collective. Just a bit of food for thought, lovelies. :)

This morning (as in 4:57 am) I thought I was about to be robbed. I woke up to a sound coming from my slightly open window. I hopped up, ready to slam that window and possibly call 911 when I saw a feral cats paw in my sill! He meowed at me, sending my cat into a mental frenzy. When I turned to look at her every hair on her body was standing up and her tail had "raccoon'ed" as I call it. It made me laugh, but also frazzled me for the next 40 minutes! I put a bit of food in the sill and closed the window. It's not cold at night anymore, so he was okay in that regard, but he gobbled the food down.

Random. But that was my early morning...

.small.spaces.

Next month, I am moving into a very small apartment. It's centrally located and the price is so right, but it's wanting for floor space.
One thing that excites me is the height of the ceiling; it's probably 15-20 feet high. I am so excited for shelving that goes up and up! The kitchen is small and offset from the living space, which makes me very happy. I plan on installing a 24" fan into the kitchen to increase ventilation and style.

I want to do a graphic look; I am thinking a navy or white slipcover for the sofa with a bright red or orange rug beneath it.

The floors are hardwood (which I love!) and the closet is deep and tall.

Another plus, and part of the reason I chose the place, is that there is a patio that (potentially) creates an outdoor dining room and reading nook.

The floorplan is peculiar enough for me to be interested in its potential.

One thing is for certain, there will be loads of updates once I move in to this fun and challenging space.

Post Script: I will find out the exact square footage on Monday, but it has enough for for a bed and loveseat. The jury is still out on the rest, but I know I will need a flat panel TV for a space like this one. Not necessarily a wall mount, but that wouldn't hurt. There will definitely be DVD and book stacks for awhile until I install the shelves.

I cannot even think about where my big brass horn will go. I'll try not to think about it!

I plan on working hard on this place, so I will post very regularly starting next month with pictures and musings. It will be a bit of work (as most beginner apartments are), but I'm excited about a new space to conquer!

Right now, I am in the middle of doing 1,000 things.

I am working on the campaign trail.

Life is rough these days.

On top of those things, I am apartment hunting because I would like to move out of my stuffy basement apartment and move closer to my university.
Tough. Tough. Tough.

My time seems to be completely taken these days. More than I'd like. To top it off, it just started raining and I am sitting in a cafe with no sweater or umbrella. Tres, tres amusant!

Ugh. I have done enough venting. Time to show off a few more of my goodies. :)
I've gotten a ton of stuff since my last post, so my next apartment is going to be pretty decked out!

I am finally getting my apartment in order, and these babies are going to be quite helpful in doing that!

I want this blog to have a theme.

So far, all I have is thoughts on themes.

Pretty sure this will be a combination of me decorating my apartment and thrift hunting. There will be many pictures to accompany it.

But for now, it is randomness, as I am feeling random this December. January promises a surge in money and a surge in time.

Thank god for school refunds, and back pay. Woot!

I am in talks to adopt an italian greyhound from a family. I have been thinking of his name.

I am probably going to pick up this little fella this weekend, and the name Comet is certainly not going to stick.

That said, here are some names I'm considering:
From Norse mythology, to me, those are perfect for dogs--
Odin, Váli, Nótt
I like Nótt because Comet is black and white, and we'll ignore that Nótt is female. :D

Other possibilities:
Esper
Euripedes, Eurie for short
Claude
Ernest

And outfits are a must! I need to work on it, big time.
Wal-Mart probably has cute, useful sweaters.

Or, Urbanpup.com, if I hit the lottery. :)

I want to ask them if I can just take their things for Comet, since they won't be having him anymore. The crate and sweaters and stuff. If I could take him home this weekend that would be fabulous. I hope they don't try to jerk me hard on the rehoming fee. If so, I will just say I don't think that's a fair price and peace out of the whole thing.

But he's such a sweet heart! They say he behaves badly, though.

Right now, my only issue is that I don't have a car. Tomorrow I am supposed to go meet the fellow for the first time, and I don't know if I will have a ride! My sister's boy should be able to give me a ride, but that's only if she comes back.

Otherwise, I will be taking the bus and enjoying and EPIC walk to their house. I wanted to go home and clean for a bit before I met him, in case they wanted to check out my place first. Here's to hoping they don't ask to pop over for a drink!

I have a strong desire to buy things.

Specifically, silk scarves and soft sweaters.

Also, being androgynous is not fun.Or, it's less fun that I originally thought. The effort it takes to create my gender fiction is getting old.

So oooollllllllldddddd.

I need a new camera, as my previous one has been robbed by a foolish person.I'm considering going for a CoolPix one. Something with at least 8 megapixels, video playback, with sound, and a wide screen. To document this season, it is worthwhile.

Also, I am taking two of my professors again next semester. Score for at least three recommendations now! =P Plus, they are good at what they do. Profesora Valdes better be grateful I'm taking a Saturday class for her! But she's so sweet and reminds me of my grandmother with how strict she is when it comes to her standards. I love it! And Doc Kessel is just a badass for good measure.
And, all As this bit around. Makes me feel semi-capable. ;] Even though I lazed about and took four classes. It was a lovely bit of lazing.

I must get some wooden chairs for my house. I've already got one, and another would be nice for next to the dorr to place things on when I get in. I want a rocking chair too, for the living room. One of those old-timey ones that's been used by many bottoms. I need some story furniture in my life. Having mostly brand-new furniture makes me feel funny (everything except bedside table + t.v. stand/food tray are new). I also want to play with colors in my outfits a bit more. My gran sent me some pastel thermals, and I'm thinking of trying them under a few tops with a scarf.
I'd like to see how that looks. Mostly, I want to try things I never have before so I don't get boxed in.
